It hung in the window five feet tall for a few years and pulled many customers off the street and through our doors

but in the end out of more than a thousand frames I like this image I captured the first night best

This is a difficult place to photograph

Typically I work to reduce the reflections coming off the water in my ocean scenes

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to name that piece before we displayed it

I had visited Kapalua Bay a dozen times and always got skunked. On this particular day I witnessed an amazing sunrise on the way to a show I was doing in Ka'anapali, so I hustled up at the end of the day to Kapalua. As the sunset started to light up, I saw the moon setting and working its way into my frame and knew I had the shot I'd been waiting
